Some people have a hard time playing the vocal melody. So here is an alternative way to play it with more open notes (notes you don't have to press down on any frets to produce). This is a different way to play it but the notes are exactly the same.

I recommend the first way since your hand is not moving all over the fret board. But the 2nd way is worth a try.
